The Story of Bottled Water

Beyond the obvious problem that tap is full of poison (fluoride, lead, and over 600 disinfectant byproducts), The Story of Bottled Water show you how absurd America’s addiction to more than half a billion bottles of water every week is, when the quality of that bottled water is not that far from the tap, or even worse.

Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industry’s attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces.

While this film concludes with a call to “take back the tap,” without focusing on improving the quality of tap by say, not intentionally poisoning it, it does make sense to make a personal commitment to avoid bottled water in favor of cleaner sources.

One potential solution is to employ the use of a distiller. Then, add back in minerals from sources such as Himalyan sea salt, or related clean sources of mineral enrichment. This would be a great way to “tap back the tap,” as the movie implores.
