Cordyceps, while an amazing medicinal mushroom, has a creepy back story. This fungus is capable of wiping out entire colonies of ants. First, it infects the ant’s nervous system, zombifying it to do its bidding by climbing to a particular spot on a plant, so it can devour and transform it from the inside out.
